Organising prior work
Most properties have some sewer history and very little documentation of it. Reconstruction is usually partial, and a partial record honestly labelled is far more useful than a confident guess.
What this page cannot establish
- no record found does not establish that no work occurred
- a permit record does not establish what was physically done
- SewerOwner cannot reconstruct a history for you
Sources worth trying
- the permit history held by the local authority
- the disclosure statement from your purchase
- the operating authority’s connection record
- any paperwork left in the property
- the previous owner, if contact is possible
- neighbours, where work was done across several properties
- evidence on the ground: a newer section of driveway, a cleanout of a different age
What would change the answer
- the permit history for the address
- the disclosure from your purchase
- anything the previous owner left behind
What to do next
It is the one source held independently of any person, and it is usually the fastest.
